WOLSINGHAM BRIDGE TO CLOSE TO TRAFFIC FROM AUGUST 11 TH FOR TWO WEEKS
THE on-going work to the Causeway (Blue) Bridge in Wolsingham is progressing well but the road will
need to be closed to traffic for two weeks from August 11 th to enable workers to re-site the
scaffolding.
Pedestrian access will still be in place.
Beginning in May this year, the work progressed throughout June with the blasting and priming of
the western sections of the steel girders and under deck as well as the application of paint coatings.
There is still work to do with a completion forecast for sometime early in the new year. There will
be two more traffic closures to come in October for scaffold dismantling and the waterproofing and
resurfacing of the bridge deck. Both will necessitate the full closure for traffic but not pedestrians for
around two weeks.
