LOCAL COUPLE TAKEN TO COURT OVER TELL-ALL BOOK
A RECENTLY published book has caused a stir with two local organisations involved in child adoption
shortly after its release.
Both organisations are pursuing a legal injunction to withdraw the book from circulation at the
Newcastle Civil and Family Courts on Tuesday, July 29th, providing only one working day for the
authors to obtain legal and professional counsel.
The authors – a couple who have an adopted son and who cannot be named at this moment in
time – have requested that specific passages in the book be identified for potential review and
modification if needed. Their appeals, however, were overlooked, and court action for the injunction
was initiated.
One of the authors said, “This represents a distinctly heavy-handed approach.”
The book, which is a story of child adoption and the hurdles that must be overcome, was
released on July 22nd and immediately experienced a surge in sales, accompanied by five-star
reviews on Amazon and Kindle.
It chronicles the complexities involved in adopting their son. Subsequently, a twist emerges when
a biological baby sister arrives, with the assurance that she would be adopted by the couple. They
ultimately discovered deceit from the two organisations involved in the adoption process, which led
to the child being returned to her birth family after several months of living with her brother and his
legally adoptive parents.
Consequently, the authors chose to document their experience while being particularly mindful of
its content due to child protection concerns. Their voices, they believe, have been entirely
disregarded throughout the process. The court has mandated that they withdraw the book from sale
until the conclusion of the court proceedings.
The two organisations contend that the book aims to disclose details about the care proceedings
and could potentially reveal the child’s identity or cause distress in the future.
“I consider this pure speculation,“ said the author. “All names have been altered to protect
identities. How could they know?
“This stance is also contradictory, given that they provide a life storybook explaining everything to
the child, along with a follow-up later-life letter.
“The book categorically states that no character in the book refers to a real person. They are
manipulating child protection laws on the same day care proceedings end for the child they are
using against the book.”
These powers will not be available to them after care proceedings end. The book itself makes no
reference to care proceedings and features characters that come with disclaimers stating that no
character within the book refers to a real individual.
The authorities appear to be concealing themselves behind the 1984 Children Act because they
do not want what the authors believe to be the truth revealing regarding what they believe to be the
agencies deceit and misconduct.
Notably, there is no mention of specific locations or agency names, and all characters, aside
from the authors, have been given new names.
“The book does not violate any of the alleged claims, yet it has undeniably created a significant
uproar within the establishment,” added the author. “I believe they have not read the final
manuscript, as it would soften even the coldest of hearts.
“Perhaps there is a narrative to disclose the heavy-handed tactics employed by the two
organisations involved to suppress freedom of speech?”
The book has received some very positive reviews on Amazon, many giving it five out of five stars.
One reader wrote: ‘Absolutely Essential and Heart-Wrenching Read’.
And another added: ‘This book is, quite simply, amazing. From its opening pages to its powerful
conclusion, it draws you in and grips your heart, proving itself to be an undeniable tear-jerker. What
makes this book so impactful is the profound insight into adoption and the hurdles along the way
that it offers.
‘It doesn’t shy away from depicting the numerous complexities and often unseen challenges faced
by individuals navigating this journey, providing a raw and honest perspective that is both
illuminating and deeply moving.
‘However, it’s the portrayal of betrayal that truly makes this book unforgettable and had me
reaching for tissues repeatedly. The way they were betrayed, the sheer injustice and emotional toll
of those moments, was depicted with such vividness and rawness that I found myself in tears several
times throughout the book.’
The court issued an injunction against the authors selling the book and therefore the Weardale
Gazette is unable to name the authors or the title of the publication. The court case will begin next
week.
