
Award-winning independent filmmaker Dean Midas took his production to the banks of the River Wear today, filming a pivotal scene for his highly anticipated upcoming horror film, The Stitcher, at the iconic Durham Regatta.
Known for his immersive and community focused storytelling within the “Midas-Verse,” Dean Midas utilised the vibrant, historic atmosphere of the 1834 founded Regatta to bring a new layer to his latest project.
The filming session took full advantage of the regatta’s rich heritage, blending the excitement of the “Henley of the North” with the suspense that fans of Midas’s work have come to expect.
”The Durham Regatta is a staple of our region’s history and character, and it was the perfect location for this scene,” said Dean Midas. “We were thrilled and extremely grateful to be part of the festivities today, and I’m incredibly proud of the footage we captured. It’s going to add something truly special to The Stitcher.”
With The Stitcher currently scheduled for an official release in October 2026, today’s shoot marks a significant milestone in the film’s production.
