Week 22 Report
Stanhope Grey Bull (A) 6–3 Wolsingham Black Lion
Stanhope Grey Bull (A) hosted their rearranged Week 19 fixture against Wolsingham Black Lion, with the visitors making the brighter start. Wins from Adam Martin and James Everitt gave Wolsingham Black Lion an early 2–0 lead. However, Stanhope Grey Bull (A) responded well through Stu Brown and Johnny Emerson to level at 2–2.
The momentum then swung firmly in favour of the hosts, as David Craggs and Chris Woodruff secured back-to-back victories to give Grey Bull (A) a two-point advantage after the singles. With three doubles remaining, the home side sealed the match by taking the first two, before Black Lion salvaged the final frame.
Final score: 6–3 to Stanhope Grey Bull (A).
Wolsingham Black Lion 6–3 Stanhope Pack Horse
In their second match of the week, Wolsingham Black Lion hosted Stanhope Pack Horse. The visitors struck first through David Nicholson, but the home side responded strongly with wins from Adam Martin, James Everitt, and Doug Mill to lead by two.
Dan Wright pulled one back for Pack Horse, but Wolsingham Black Lion regained control by taking the final singles frame. They carried that momentum into the doubles, winning the first two to secure the match, with Pack Horse taking the last.
Final score: 6–3 to Wolsingham Black Lion.
Frosterley Inn 8–1 St John’s Chapel Blue Bell
Frosterley Inn produced a dominant display against St John’s Chapel Blue Bell. Ethan Coates set the tone early, continuing his impressive form with a second consecutive total clearance. Derek Dent and Neil Coates extended the lead to 3–0 before Derek Iddon got the visitors on the board.
That proved to be Blue Bell’s only success of the evening, as Finlay Coates and Davey Richmond wrapped up the singles. Frosterley then completed a flawless performance in the doubles, winning all three frames.
Final score: 8–1 to Frosterley Inn.
Stanhope Grey Bull (A) 9–0 Stanhope Grey Bull (B)
The all–Grey Bull clash saw a commanding performance from the (A) side. Ben Forster, Stu Brown, and Chris Woodruff took the opening three frames, before David Craggs, John Anderson, and Johnny Emerson added another three to secure victory before the doubles began.
There was no let-up from Grey Bull (A), who swept all three doubles frames to complete a clean sweep.
Final score: 9–0 to Stanhope Grey Bull (A).
