IT is not so well known but local GP surgeries no longer offer a guaranteed service for syringing ears due to excessive wax build-up but Weardale and surrounding areas is fortunate to have its own expert – and she offers home visits!

Alison Rippon spent almost 20 years as a community nurse in the local area. Her long NHS career began on a busy surgical ward, where she developed her expertise in patient care.  After leaving community nursing, she continued to build her knowledge with a rewarding role as a treatment room nurse in the Weardale Practice. These varied experiences have allowed her to specialise in treating patients with a range of health concerns, including those struggling with hearing loss caused by ear wax build-up.

Ear irrigation has been a regular part of her work, and she has helped countless patients improve their hearing and alleviate discomfort caused by excess wax.

She said, “Many of my patients have been referred by audiology services for ear wax removal before undergoing hearing assessments or having their hearing aids reviewed.  I hold the Rotherham Ear Care and Audiology Ear Irrigation & Instrumentation Certificate and attend regular professional updates to maintain my skills and stay up-to-date with the latest best practices.

“This ensures you receive safe, effective, and reliable ear care.”

She has this advice for everyone: ‘Don’t let blocked ears affect your hearing and comfort. Schedule your consultation now for ear care advice and professional wax removal in Weardale and beyond.’

Alison does have a clinic near Consett but also works within the community and can attend anyone in need in their own home. Her clinic provides professional advice and wax removal, in a calm and friendly environment and she welcomes clients from across County Durham and the surrounding areas.

There is a Facebook page with many excellent reviews on it but other contact details below.

If anyone is unsure about what treatment they may need or indeed IF they need treatment, Alison is on hand to answer any queries.

“If you have any concerns about your hearing or ear health, don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to helping you!,” she said.
