SHEEP SHEARER SEEKING BUSINESS

SHEEP SHEARER SEEKING BUSINESS
A YOUNG man from Frosterley is seeking business after setting up his own sheep-shearing company.
Lewis Stephenson, 22, wasn’t born into farming but the occupation is his passion and has been
since he was 14 yeas old. He was, at that point, experiencing a difficult time in his life. His father,
Gary, had died after a long illness and one day, he happened to bump into farmer’s wife, Catherine
Reed.
Catherine asked Lewis if he would like to come and help out on the farm. He jumped at the chance
and that chance meeting changed his life – he has been working on the farm ever since. Lewis found

his niche in life and is completely consumed by farming. He has some land that he rents for his own
animals as well as working on Reed’s farm.
It was Michael Reed who taught Lewis the basics of sheep shearing and he liked it so much that
he later attended Newton Rigg college to do a course in sheep shearing. Since then, he has taken the
plunge and founded his own sheep-shearing business – Stephenson’s Shearing.
Lewis is available to shear sheep, using his Nexus Shearing Machine. For more information or to
book Stephenson’s Shearing call 07739585769.
