SATLEY SPEED SHEAR BACK FOR THIRD YEAR

SATLEY SPEED SHEAR BACK FOR THIRD YEAR
AN event held on a Satley farm for the last two years is back by popular demand for a third time and
will take place on August 23 rd .
The speed sheep-shearing event will again be held on West Shield Farm, owned by the Smith
family who several years ago, hosted the huge North Sheep event. This contest, popular with the
farming community and the general public alike, has so far raised £14,000 pound for local charities.
Organised by Mark Robson and his team, this year’s event will be held in aid of the Sick Children’s
Trust, British Heart Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The event will begin at 6pm with
contestants from all over the country competing for the top prize of £500.
These contestants will be shearing a lamb as fast as they can and hoping to take first place. The
event is open to all – both shearers and the public. West Shield Farm, Satley, DL13 4HN.
