A DARTS tournament was held in the Hare and Hounds public house in Westgate last night.

In memory of Paul Beddard from Westgate who died suddenly ten years ago, the annual competition was organised and run by Peter Nattrass, also from the village. Many people braved the weather to attend and take part with the kind permission of Colin and Alison Wilson and their team who run the pub.

Paul’s daughter, Diane, said, Thank you everyone for coming and playing, and showing your support, don’t forget that this couldn’t happen without you!

“This year has marked the 10th year of Dad’s passing and was an emotional day for family and friends. We all miss him dearly.

It was the 9th tournament to date so that means next year is our 10th! It would seem fitting to try and make this one a bigger event! Invite your friends, your family and let’s see more from the darts league please!”

The winner of the competition was Daniel Bell for the second time in succession with Jordan Wearmouth, the runner up.

Watch out for details of next year’s event.
