Open Garden at Bishop Auckland for Marie Curie
THE Bishop Auckland Fundraising Group of Marie Curie is delighted to announce that on Sunday,
17th August the garden at 2, Hillside Cottage (DL14 0EZ) will be open from 1.00 – 4.00pm in support
of Marie Curie.
In this half acre mature cottage garden grass paths lead past a wide variety of beds with shrubs,
grasses, perennials and trees – both native and exotic. A wild area with a small pond is adjacent to a
greenhouse with a collection of cacti and succulents. At the top of the garden is a larger pond with
frogs, toads, newts etc together with vegetable beds, fruit trees and roses.
A variety of sculptures are strategically placed throughout and there are lots of places to sit and
admire the views over Weardale and the surrounding countryside.
Tickets £5 for adults – children go free.Refreshments will be available to purchase.
