
THE iconic motorcycle event known as the Travers Trial, sponsored by RA Dalton, will take place on Sunday September 21st.
The competition will begin around 9am with the first riders setting off from The Allenheads Inn, Allenheads, Northumberland, NE47 9HJ and follow a route that will take in the upper Dale.
The Travers Trophy Trial has a rich history, dating back to the 1920s, and has become one of the classic events in the North of England. It is a scrambles competition that has evolved over the years. The competition organised by the Newcastle and District Motor Club has featured a variety of motorcycle models, including Norton and Vincent machines. The trials have been well-represented in film, with amateur films capturing the action and the excitement of the riders. The Travers Trophy Trial continues to be a significant event in the world of motorcycle trials, attracting riders and spectators alike.
Local riders will compete against nationally known motorcyclists on a variety of machines.
