LOOKING TO FIND A FAMILY
A LADY from the upper Dale is looking for information in her quest to find her family.
The lady, who does not want to be named at this point was an illegitimate child, was born in 1937
at Crawleyside to Bessie Guy. Her father was Bill Storey, possibly a similar age to Bessie, and most
probably lived in the lower Dale, perhaps in Wolsingham.
This man paid an allowance towards the baby through a local solicitor until she was 14 years old
– the age when compulsory education stopped at that time. Now, in her twilight years, she is hoping
to make contact with any other family members she may have.
