CORNERSTONE, the homeless charity, based in Willington and Hartlepool, opened its second Homeless Hub yesterday (October 6) in Bishop Auckland.

In the heart of Bishop Auckland, Finkle Street DL147PL, this hub mirrors the charity’s other location in Hartlepool and is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., for anyone who is rough sleeping to access professional one-to-one housing support.

Visitors can access hot and cold food and drink donations, use the disabled-access shower facilities, wash and dry their clothes, and make use of allocated lockers for their belongings.

This hub will streamline the support available in Bishop Auckland, helping people connect with other services that can address the underlying issues contributing to homelessness.

Bob, the first therapy dog in the UK supporting the homeless, will also be based at this hub for community drop-ins, offering extra comfort to those who may need it.

If you see anyone rough sleeping in County Durham, please log their location at https://thestreetlink.org.uk/. If you have any questions, feel free to call the hub on 020 4636 0026.
