A local crafter is preparing for an experience of a lifetime by showcasing and selling her innovative designs in Birmingham.
Claire Nicholas, originally from Howden-le-Wear and a former pupil of Wolsingham School, is heading to the BBC’s Gardeners’ World Live at the NEC Birmingham on June 17th. The four-day event runs from June 18th – 21st – Showcasing her unique and joyful approach to garden décor and wildlife care.

Claire, who founded her own business called ‘Peck and Go’ transforms recycled teapots and ceramics into beautiful, hand-made, sturdy bird houses and feeders. She combines sustainability, creativity and a love of wildlife into each piece, giving unwanted and often very old china and ceramics a new lease of life while bringing colour and charm into gardens.

Claire is very excited to be have this opportunity to share her story and her innovative designs with visitors from across the UK. She is being accompanied by an old school-friend, Sarah Merryweather, another business entrepreneur who lived in Stanhope but like her friend, now resides in Bishop Auckland.
We wish them every success. Good luck to you both!
