Guidance issued for County Durham election candidates
GUIDANCE has been provided for candidates looking to stand in this year’s County Durham
elections.
Durham County Council is inviting all those considering standing for election in the forthcoming
County Council and Parish Council elections, on Thursday 1 May, to attend a briefing session on the
election process. The session will be held on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 19 February, at
5.30pm, and is open to prospective candidates and agents.
Anyone who wishes to attend can register their interest by completing an online request form .
The council is also advising candidates that nomination packs can now be requested by using the
nomination pack online form .
Prospective candidates can submit their nomination papers from Friday 21 March by handing
them in to the nominations team at County Hall, between 10am and 4pm on weekdays. The
deadline to submit nomination papers is 4pm on Wednesday 2 April.
