FITNESS CLASSES AROUND THE DALE HELPS THE AGING PROCESS AND MORE
A PERSONAL Trainer from Wolsingham is enjoying success around the Dale with her fitness classes.
Debbie Barber left her ‘corporate’ job after a health scare in her late 40s, and re-trained as a PT.
She works predominantly but not exclusively with women to improve their health and wellbeing.
She said, “Learning from my own experiences, I help navigate the aging process, through my group
classes, or one-to-one sessions in a little training studio at Stanhope Community Centre. Exercise can
be very helpful, particularly with the huge changes we encounter with the menopause.”
Debbie, whose business is based in Stanhope at the Community Centre, holds weekly fitness
classes there on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6pm.  Tuesday (Beginners Circuits, but adaptable for all
fitness levels), Thursday (Legs, Bums, Tums). £7 per session. Discounts available for block
bookings.
She also holds a session on Mondays at St Thomas church hall in Wolsingham at 6pm. Monday
Circuits (all fitness levels welcome). £6 per session. Discounts available for block bookings).
“We’re a fun bunch, we train hard but don’t take ourselves too seriously!,” she added.
Debbie’s one-to-one Personal Training includes such activities as weight training, boxing
padwork, HIIT and more.
She said, “I have a wonderful loyal cohort of regulars but it would be great to encourage some
newbies to join us and also, of course, anyone who would like more personal one-to-one help.”
