This month marks one year since the relaunch of The Weardale Gazette as an online newspaper.
In that time, it has become the leading source of news and information for the Weardale area, providing local residents with timely, relevant, and community-focused reporting. Recognising the need for a publication dedicated to Weardale and its people, Anita Atkinson and her nephew Adrian Smith revived the Gazette to ensure that local stories continue to be told.
Over the past twelve months, the newspaper has covered a wide range of topics — from community events and local issues to charitable initiatives — all with a focus on celebrating and supporting life in Weardale and its surrounding area. The success of this relaunch is a testament to the commitment, hard work, and vision of Anita and Adrian, whose efforts have ensured that the voices of the community are heard and that residents remain informed and connected.
On behalf of readers across the region, sincere thanks and congratulations are extended to Anita and Adrian on reaching this milestone. Your dedication to serving the people of Weardale is truly appreciated.
