Businessman sets off to ride the length of UK for Diabetes charity
A LOCAL businessman has set off to ride from Land’s End to JohnO’Groats in aid of Diabetes UK.
Richard Pinkney, who runs Pinkney Construction alongside other businesses in his Tow Law HQ, is
cycling with three other people, including his father-in-law, 78-year-old, Ken Hunt, who lives with
Type 2 Diabetes.
Ricahrd, a father of two, said, “I am excited to share that I will be cycling from Land’s End to John
O’Groats to raise funds for Diabetes UK. This journey is not just a personal challenge; it’s a chance to
make a real difference in the lives of those affected by diabetes.
“Every pedal stroke will bring us closer to supporting vital research and providing essential
resources for individuals living with this condition.”
Richard and Ken have personal reasons for supporting this charity with other family members
living with the condition. The route they will take is almost 1000 miles long and they are aiming to
complete it in two weeks.
The group set off on Saturday, May 24 th and are making good progress as we went to press.
If you would like to sponsor Richard, every penny counts towards helping this important charity.
