B&M is set to take over a former Homebase store in Bishop Auckland.
THE discount retailer has confirmed it will be  moving into the unit off Watling Road , beside Frank’s
The Flooring Store and One Gym, next month.
The new store, which will create 40 jobs, will stock a huge selection of hoods from food and drink
to health and beauty products, homeware, toys, DIY essentials, and electricals.  The new B&M store
will have a ground floor sales space of 21,380 sq ft, alongside a mezzanine sales floor of 8,267 sq ft.
Both of these areas will undergo a “comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme”
before officially opening to the public on Saturday, May 17, at 8am.
It will also boast a 7,180 sq ft garden centre – like its predecessor Homebase – which will sell
hundreds of plant varieties and garden essentials.
B&M previously had a store in the centre of the town – in Saddler Street.
