Families can enjoy a full day exploring Bishop Auckland’s heritage, art and culture for less than ever before this summer as The Auckland Project launches a new all-inclusive Discovery Day Pass and opens its attractions seven days a week.
A new Discovery Day Pass, which launched on Saturday 11 July, gives visitors access to Auckland Palace and gardens, the Spanish Gallery, Faith Museum and Mining Art Gallery for one great-value price. Adult tickets cost £26, while family tickets are available from £54.24, offering access to attractions worth more than £43 when purchased separately.
Children’s Discovery Day Passes are available from £8.74, while new Gardens Only tickets will also launch for £5. Individual attraction tickets will continue to be available for visitors looking for a shorter visit.
The new ticket has been introduced to make visiting simpler and offer even greater value, allowing families and day-trippers to enjoy Bishop Auckland’s unique collection of heritage attractions without having to choose between them.
From Monday 20 July, all four attractions, along with Auckland Palace and Gardens, will also open seven days a week throughout the summer holidays, making it even easier for families to experience everything Bishop’s Alive has to offer in a single visit.

Vic Cunningham, Head of Visitor Experience, said: “Summer is the perfect time to discover everything Bishop Auckland has to offer. By opening seven days a week and introducing our new Discovery Day Pass, we’re making it easier than ever for families and visitors to enjoy a full day exploring our galleries, museums, palace and beautiful gardens.
Annual Bishop’s Key memberships remain available and continue to offer unlimited admission throughout the year, with visitors able to upgrade from a Discovery Day Pass. From 11 July, Bishop’s Key holders will also benefit from the inclusion of Binchester Roman Fort, further enhancing the value of the annual pass.
As a regeneration charity, The Auckland Project is revitalising Bishop Auckland as a major cultural destination, celebrating the town’s rich history through world-class heritage, art and community engagement.
Residents in DL4, DL5, DL13, DL14, DL15, DL16 and DL17 postcodes can also enjoy an additional 20% saving on a Bishop’s Key membership.
