STANHOPE Silver Band members organised a very successful Coffee Morning last Saturday in the church hall, Stanhope.
The morning event was very well attended with teas/coffees available as well as cake stalls, tombola and raffle, which raised an amazing £864.96p.
A spokesperson for the band said, “We would like to thank everyone who came, baked, served, donated prizes and bought raffle tickets. It really does help the band tremendously.”
The band is a long established group, with a history spanning well over 100 years, that plays around the region and especially in the local area of Weardale. Some of the players are band members who have played constantly for decades. They are not paid and play for the love of the music and the band itself.
The next concert will be held in Cowshill on October 3rd (see below for details). Everyone welcome. Please support your local silver band!!
