9th August 2026
Tenth Sunday After Trinity
Collect
Lord of heaven and earth,
as Jesus taught his disciples to be persistent in prayer,
give us patience and courage never to lose hope,
but always to bring our prayers before you;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

For Your Prayers
We keep in ourprayers all in our community who are in any kind of need. Our prayers are asked particularly for Kathleen Kirby.
We pray for children during the school holidays, for freedom, friendship, fun and safety; we pray too for those who care for them, who may have to juggle work and family commitments as well as financial pressure.
Cowshill Garden Party
The annual Garden Party took place on Saturday 1st August in St Thomas’ Church and the Village Hall, Cowshill. Thanks are due to all who helped and supported the event. Over £500 was raised for church funds.
Faith Through Music
This month’s Faith through Music will look at the lovely hymn that celebrates God’s creations, and praises him for them: For the Beauty of the Earth.
We’re not doing anything creative with the format. Richard will give a very brief introduction, and then open the floor to a freeflowing discussion that might look at questions such as do we like the hymn, how does the hymn speak to us and how many verses do we think it should have. Richard will have thought of some Difficult Questions, should the discussion dry up.
The discussion will take place over zoom at 20:00 on the 11th August. Contact Richard via the Newsletter for an invitation (which will likely come out on Monday, because Richard is taking a long weekend)
It’s always good to welcome new faces to our discussion, particularly if they bring new perspective or insight. So please get in touch and join the fun
