A new community theatre company is being launched in the Dale.
3Dales Theatre is the “brainchild” of old friends Becci Dixon and Jo Rendall. The pair met around twenty years ago as members of the Progressive Players at Gateshead Little Theatre and now both live in Weardale or close by.
“We want to bring regular live theatre productions to our village halls and community spaces,” says Jo. “It’s an opportunity for anyone of any age to get involved in any aspect of theatre that may interest them. Audiences will get to see quality home-grown productions.”
“We’ve got a lot of experience between us,” says Becci. “We hope lots of people will want to join us to make it happen!”
A launch event will be held in Stanhope Community Centre on Wednesday 19th August from 6pm to 8pm. Jo and Becci invite you to come along and find out more. You’ll be able to meet them both and hear about their plans for the company’s first production.
3Dales Theatre will be firmly rooted in Weardale but hopes to establish links with other local groups and in the neighbouring dales.
