Some of County Durham’s finest young musicians have taken to the stage at Gala Durham for a note-worthy evening.
Durham County Council’s Music Service hosted its Leavers’ Gala Concert at the local authority venue, celebrating the musical skills of those supported by the service.
Featuring Durham Music Youth Orchestra, Youth Choir, Senior Wind Band and Youth Jazz, students showcased their talent with a range of dazzling performances across the evening.
Durham Music’s newly crowned Young Musician of the Year, Eilidh Huddart, also took to the stage for a special solo performance.
It’s the second year that Durham Music Service has held an end of year celebration, recognising the talent of those who are moving on at the end of this academic year.
“The majority of these students joined our music service at primary school when they were as young as six or seven. We’re very proud at how far they’ve come to flourish into such talented musicians, and we wish them all the very best for their future. Hopefully, we can welcome them back to Gala Durham and our other venues as they continue their musical journeys into higher education and passion for music.”
