Internationally renowned artist, Layla Curtis, originally from Ireshopeburn is staging a new exhibition.

Layla, a former pupil of Wearhead Primary School and also Wolsingham School where her Art teacher was Ken Charlton, sold one of her works of Art to the Tate Modern where it was on display in London – when she was only 24 years old.

Now resident in London, Layla’s new exhibition is as follows:

Layla Curtis has created a unique cyanotype Projection (Butterfly) No.1, especially for Drawing Biennial 2026 – a fundraising exhibition at Drawing Room, London. 

The Drawing Biennial 2026 online auction opens at noon, Tue 9 June, and ends 9 pm (BST) Tue 23 June. Works are available to purchase with a starting bid of £400.
