A LADY from Westgate who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April has organised a fundraising event for Breast Cancer Now.

Elaine Anderson (48) is a wife and mother of two girls who found a lump in her breast after watching an on-line video about a woman who had checked herself. She sought medical advice and is now under treatment with chemotherapy until the end of October. Later, there will be surgery and radiotherapy but despite this, Elaine is thinking of others and wants to help the charity which accessed for help and information.

Now she wants to give back to help others in the same predicament by raising money for this charity, which is the UK’s leading breast cancer charity. It combines the power of science and support to change breast cancer. To that end, Elaine has organised an Afternoon Tea event to be held in Westgate Village Hall in August.

It will take place on August 22nd between 12 noon and 3pm where they will also be a raffle and other fundraising opportunities. Please make a note in your diaries and help support others diagnosed with Breast Cancer.
