ART EXHIBITION IN WOLSINGHAM

FOLLOWING on from the Fusion Art Group’s exhibition and sale in the St Anne’s Centre came the similar event held in St Thomas RC church hall in the town on Saturday.

Members of the Durham Art Group, which includes some from Weardale, exhibited and put up their work for sale. The group is looking to exhibit permanently at St Thomas with regular Open Days throughout the year.Private viewings are also welcome, please send a message to 07903158086 to arrange.

The Durham Art Group, formerly known as the Deerness Art Group, is an association of amateur artists from across the region. Their interests are painting related activities centred on developing their skills, knowledge and enjoyment of the hobby.

Members meet every second Sunday of the month at 11am until 2:30pm at Merryoaks Community Centre in Durham (DH1 3QF) with some tutored by professional artists. Twice a year they hold competitions with annual prizes awarded. The group is managed by an elected committee and is open to new members with membership being £15 per annum.

Two local artists who exhibited in Wolsingham were Robert Ormerod from Wolsingham and Dr Paoi Wilmer from Fir Tree.
