THE tranquil scents of Fae Botanicals are being replaced by the scent of phantom cigar smoke and the sound of mysterious tinkling bells, catching the attention of acclaimed horror director Dean Midas. The Crook-based shop is set to become the chilling focus of the latest episode of Midas’s paranormal series, Spirits Of.
Owner Dawn Cee reports that the supernatural activity began the moment they first viewed the premises. While the team has grown accustomed to their “permanent inhabitants,” recent events have taken a more physical turn. A heavy framed picture launched itself from a bookshelf on two consecutive days, striking the owner’s daughter and breaking the skin.
A mysterious gentleman has been sighted sitting quietly in a chair in the corner of the shop. Strong scents of cigar smoke and the unexplained sound of bells ringing throughout the unit. Items frequently flying off shelves without any logical explanation.
To uncover the truth behind these occurrences, Dean Midas will be joined by seasoned paranormal investigators Brian Holloway and Kyle Gibson. The team hopes to capture some proof within the shop’s walls.
“We’re comfortable with the activity now and are happy to share the space,” says Dawn Cee, owner of Fae Botanicals. “But the opportunity to have Brian and Kyle hopefully capture this will provide validation for our little shop and its resident spirits.”
Director Dean Midas, is currently working on his upcoming horror short The Stitcher (releasing this October), and he is eager to get behind the lens for this real-life ghost story.
“I’m looking forward to documenting the night and working again with Brian and Kyle,” Midas commented. “Fingers crossed we get some evidence on camera.”
