WOLSINGHAM MAN RUNNING IN LONDON MARATHON

Weardale Gazette: Trusted source for local news, events, and community updates.

A man from Wolsingham will be taking part in the country’s most famous marathon on April 26th.

Andrew Marshall will be running around the capital city in the London Marathon – his first ever and just a few weeks after his 60th birthday. He will be running in aid of Enham Trust, a charity dedicated to empowering disabled people to secure meaningful employment and lead independent lives. It was this remarkable charity that played a pivotal role in helping his own daughter, Gemma, to secure employment after she was overlooked because of her disability. With the support of this charity, Gemma was able to overcome the barriers to employment and started building a successful and fulfilling career.

If you would like to support Andrew in his quest, you can donate any amount you can afford through his JustGiving page where every penny goes to this excellent cause. Disability is difficult to live with but those unfortunate enough to have to live their lives this way are usually eligible for benefits. Gemma and many like her don’t want to rely on the state – they WANT to work and charities like Enham Trust help them to do so.

Andrew set himself a target of £1800 to help this Trust to continue this important work, which has now been reached but every penny will count so if you can help, visit this page to donate – https://www.justgiving.com/page/andrew-marshall-1300?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL&utm_campaign=lc_frp_share_transaction_fundraiser_page_donation_received_-_nth_donation&fbclid=IwY2xjawRPbKBleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg
