Week 10 Report
Only two fixtures were played this week, as St John’s Chapel Blue Bell were unable to fulfil their scheduled match against Stanhope Grey Bull (B). This fixture will be rearranged, with a new date to be confirmed.
Stanhope Club v Stanhope Pack Horse
Stanhope Club welcomed Stanhope Pack Horse, with the visitors getting off to the perfect start thanks to a win from Ian Peart. The hosts quickly replied through Alan Barker, before taking firm control of the match.
Stanhope Club went on to dominate the remainder of the singles, recording victories from Adam Robinson, Stu O’Dell, and brothers Adam and Paul Dobson. They continued their strong form into the doubles, claiming all three games to round off a convincing 8–1 victory.
Wolsingham Black Lion v Stanhope Grey Bull (A)
Stanhope Grey Bull (A) opened the scoring through Paul Coombs, but Wolsingham Black Lion responded well as Chris Pybourne levelled the match. That proved to be the home side’s only singles success of the night, as the visitors surged ahead.
Wins from Chris Woodruff, Johnny Emerson, Carl Tunstall, and John Anderson gave Stanhope Grey Bull (A) a commanding 5–1 lead after the singles. Wolsingham Black Lion claimed the first doubles game, but the visitors secured the final two doubles to seal a comfortable 7–2 win.
