AS the Festive season is just around the corner, folk up and down Dale are preparing for the big man’s arrival.
Community-minded people are working hard to help others, especially the children, to celebrate the birth of Jesus in events around the area. The Methodist church in Crook was one of the first with a Festive Fayre held in St Andrew’s Dawson Street.
The congregation worked hard to bring an event enjoyed by all ages with craft stalls, tombola, raffle, lunches and snacks as well as a visit from Santa in his grotto.
The church is at the centre of the town, with Tuesday lunches, Sunday services and so much more.
Watch out for other events around Weardale with Christmas lights switched on, Christmas trees lit, Children’s parties and, of course, other visits by Father Christmas as well as Carol services.
