Mobile Wellness Bus visits Stanhope
Durham County Council funded Wellbeing Bus has visited the Dale, calling in at Stanhope Methodist
church.
The Wellbeing Bus, part of the County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services is the alcohol
and drug service for people living in County Durham. The bus provides a service for people who
require support that may be harder to reach across County Durham.
The authority understands that someone seeking support for drug and/or alcohol use may not be
able to access the service for many reasons. The Wellbeing Bus aims to make this support more
accessible to all who wish to embark on their recovery journey, or require similar support.
Services provided by the Wellbeing Bus:
Harm minimisation advice
Needle syringe programme
Hepatitis C testing
Naloxone training and awareness
The service helps people with challenges relating to their alcohol and/or drug use, and help
reduce risk-taking behaviour through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support. Specially
trained staff will support you to help achieve and sustain recovery from alcohol and drug use
through a range of treatments. They offer a range of support and advice no matter what your needs
are.
The bus can be accessed at points around the county or if you or someone you know needs help,
you can telephone: 03000 266 666 or email
