PRESENTATION of Durham County Council’s CHAIRMAN’S MEDAL to David Heatherington
HOW wonderfully fitting that as the Weardale Museum celebrates its 40th Anniversary, the highest
civil honour Durham County Council can bestow on an individual, the “Chairman’s Medal”, will be
presented to David during the Celebration Service on 16th May.
To be presented by the Chairman of Durham County Council Cllr Joan Nicholson, the Medal is
awarded to individuals to recognise outstanding voluntary contributions and exceptional
achievements in all walks of life in the County. It recognises David’s voluntary services to the
Museum and several other Weardale groups and projects.
