LOCAL FILM-MAKER SAYS THANK YOU
A LOW budget film maker from Willington, who shoots all of his movies on a mobile phone has
announced his plans for 2025 and thanked all the venues in the region who support him and his
team.
Dean Midas’ filming venues include The Manor House Hotel & Spa, West Auckland, The Dairy
Barn, Crook and the Quarry Tea House amongst many others. Without their ‘priceless’ help, Dean
admits he wouldn’t be in the position that he’s in today.
Dean said, “I want to personally thank every single venue who continues to help and support us.
They help turn our dreams into a reality, and they will never be forgotten”
Editor and Owner of Darkus Magazines Thushara Chandrasiri named Dean as his film maker of the
year and said, “Imagine having a passion and transforming it into a reality, well that is exactly what
happened in the case of Dean Midas. Proving that all you need is a bit of imagination, team work and
an open mind, Dean is a Filmmaker in a league of his own”
In 2025, Dean is set to make another short film, Eve vs Sayer and he will be working on a spooky
stage play called Eve.
Dean Midas writes and directs all of his short horror films based on his own characters Eve
Valentine, Sayer Hicks & The Rag Dolly. His latest film The Legend of Sayer Hicks, featured audio
from Roger L Jackson, the voice of Ghostface from the multi-million-pound Scream franchise.
You can also hear Dean and his Midas at the Movies feature every Friday on the Amy Oakden BBC
Radio Tees breakfast show at 7.50am
