Volunteers needed for Stanhope’s MS charity shop

Volunteers needed for Stanhope’s MS charity shop
THE Stanhope & Weardale MS Society has issued an urgent appeal for more volunteers to
help in the shop in Stanhope.
Yvonne Cassidy, a long-serving volunteer of the charity and the shop, said, “As many of you
know, I’m deeply involved with the Stanhope & Weardale Multiple Sclerosis Society.
‘Our mission is to support local people living with MS, and our shop plays a vital role in
raising funds to achieve this. At the moment, we have temporarily closed the shop to tidy up
and reorganize, but with more volunteers, we might not have needed to take this step.
“That’s why we’re reaching out to ask for your help. If you could spare just a couple of
hours—morning or afternoon—it would make such a difference. Whether you would prefer
to work behind the scenes sorting stock or want to be trained on the till to help on the shop
floor, the choice is yours!
“We’re a friendly, easy-going team who love a good chat and laugh, and we’d welcome you
on board with open arms.
“To volunteer, either drop me a message, or once we reopen (hopefully very soon!), pop
into the shop and ask for a volunteer application form.
“Thank you to everyone who’s already stepped forward—we truly appreciate your support.
And for those considering it, remember: the more, the merrier! Thanks for taking the time
to read this, and we hope to see some new faces soon!”
The shop is located in the main street in Stanhope or contact Yvonne on Facebook.
