Bishop Auckland MP Sam Rushworth has received his flu vaccination at Wolsingham Pharmacy as part of a campaign to encourage people who are most at risk from flu to get protected this winter.

The visit highlights the important role community pharmacies play in making vaccinations accessible to local residents, with vaccinations now available for eligible patients.

Sam Rushworth MP said:

“Flu can be a serious illness, particularly for people who are more vulnerable. Getting vaccinated is one of the simplest things we can do to protect ourselves, our families and the wider community this winter.”

“I’m pleased to have received my vaccination at Wolsingham Pharmacy and would encourage everyone who is eligible to take up the offer.”

Pete Horrocks, Superintendent of Wolsingham Pharmacy, said:

“It was great to welcome Sam to Wolsingham Pharmacy and for him to help us highlight the importance of flu vaccination.”

“Community pharmacies are ideally placed to provide convenient access to vaccination, and our team is ready to support eligible patients throughout the winter.”
