Bishop Trains is recruiting a new Travel Consultant to join its customer-facing team at Bishop Auckland Railway Station.
The successful candidate will help passengers plan and book their journeys, sell National Rail tickets and other travel products, provide information during service disruption, and support the day-to-day operation and presentation of the station.
The position is initially part-time, providing 20 contracted hours each week across Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Following successful completion of the required training and probationary period, there may be an opportunity for the role to become full-time, subject to performance and the operational needs of the business.
Previous railway or ticketing experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. Bishop Trains is particularly interested in applicants who have strong customer-service skills, communicate confidently and take pride in creating a welcoming environment for passengers and visitors.

The initial working hours are Wednesday from 9.20am until 4.20pm, Friday from 6.20am until 2.20pm, and Saturday from 8.20am until 1.20pm.
The role includes customer service, journey planning, ticket sales, retail duties, cash handling and helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming station environment.
