Week 24 Report

Wolsingham Black Lion v Frosterley Inn

Wolsingham Black Lion hosted their re-arranged fixture from Week 17 against Frosterley Inn, and it was the home side who struck first through James Everitt. Ethan Coates quickly levelled for Frosterley, before Davey Richmond edged the visitors ahead.

Adam Martin responded well for Black Lion to bring the match back to 2–2, but from that point on it was Frosterley Inn who took firm control. Derek Dent and Finlay Coates secured the remaining singles frames, giving the visitors a two-point cushion heading into the doubles.

Frosterley Inn maintained their dominance by winning all three doubles matches, sealing an emphatic 7–2 victory.

St Johns Chapel Blue Bell v Stanhope Grey Bull (A)

St Johns Chapel Blue Bell welcomed Stanhope Grey Bull (A), but it was the visitors who made the stronger start. Johnny Emerson, Chris Woodruff, and John Anderson took the opening three frames, before Stu Brown produced a superb total clearance to claim the fourth.

Needing just one more frame to secure the win, Stanhope Grey Bull (A) didn’t have to wait long, as David Craggs delivered in the fifth singles match to clinch victory with games to spare.

Colin Hodgson picked up a consolation frame for the hosts in the final singles match, but the visitors added two of the three doubles to round off a comfortable 7–2 win.

Stanhope Grey Bull (B) v Stanhope Club

Stanhope Club made the short trip to face Stanhope Grey Bull (B) and wasted no time asserting control. Paul Dobson, Alan Barker, and Adam Dobson gave the visitors a commanding 3–0 lead.

The momentum continued as Adam Robinson, Frank Stephenson, and Stu O’Dell completed a clean sweep of the singles, securing the match before the doubles began.

Stanhope Club went on to take the first two doubles frames, but Grey Bull (B) avoided the whitewash by claiming the final game of the night. Stanhope Club ran out convincing 8–1 winners.
