Stanhope Club vs St Johns Chapel Blue Bell

Stanhope Club welcomed St Johns Chapel Blue Bell and made a strong start. Wins from Stu O’Dell, Alan Barker, and Adam Dobson saw the hosts race into a 3–0 lead.

Peter Liddle pulled one back for the visitors, defeating Stanhope’s Adam Robinson and ending his impressive unbeaten league run of 10 out of 10. Colin Hodgson followed up to close the gap to a single point. However, Paul Dobson restored breathing space for the home side, claiming the final singles frame to give Stanhope Club a two-point cushion heading into the doubles.

St Johns Chapel Blue Bell took the first of the doubles matches to keep the pressure on, but Stanhope Club responded in style, securing the final two games of the night to seal a convincing 6–3 victory.

Stanhope Pack Horse vs Stanhope Grey Bull (A)

Stanhope Pack Horse hosted Stanhope Grey Bull (A) in what proved to be a closely contested encounter throughout.

Louise Fletcher opened the scoring for the Pack Horse, only for Stu Brown to level matters. Ian Peart restored the home advantage, but John Anderson again drew the visitors level at 2–2.

The back-and-forth pattern continued as David Nicholson edged Pack Horse ahead before Dean Tinkler ensured the singles ended finely poised at 3–3.

Stanhope Grey Bull (A) claimed the opening doubles match to take the lead for the first time in the evening. However, Stanhope Pack Horse held their nerve, winning the final two doubles matches to clinch a narrow 5–4 victory in a match that could have gone either way.
