Knit a Christmas square in Stanhope

ROOT and Branch Café is holding an event on Thursday, November 21st to which everyone is invited to make knit a festive square.

They are multiplying too! A spokeswoman for Root and Branch, said, “Join our friendly knitting sessions and help create a festive tree made from squares crafted by you, the community.

“This heart-warming project in collaboration with Weardale Methodist Church brings people together stitch by stitch. After Christmas, the squares will be sewn into blankets for local charities, spreading warmth through the winter months. Yarn and needles provided, or bring your own.

“All ages and abilities welcome.”

The event will be run by Caroline Sawyer in the Methodist School rooms between 10am and 1pm. Everyone welcome.
