
£6500 Kitson in-calf heifer
Darlington Farmers Auction Mart were privileged to conduct the second annual Kitson’s Stars sale on the evening of Friday 2nd October 2026.
An incredible crowd gathered in Darlington to focus on the annual production sale of expertly selected in-calf, bulling and show heifers from A Kitson & Son, Five Houses Farm Shop. The Kitson name remains at the forefront of high-quality cattle auctions across the UK and for that treason this sale was again very well supported by beef producers seeking perfection in their next crop of calves.
Buyers from the length and breadth of all four home nations bid freely in person and online to ensure that a marvellous trade was witnessed throughout. The twenty-four in calf heifers averaged a superb £4583 with the twenty-five bulling heifers levelling at £3525.
Top call of the evening at £6500 was achieved by lot 12; a stunning red-roan Limousin crossed heifer bred by Messrs Scott of Wigton. In calf and due in January to Harestone Ujeanluc she now makes her way to Essex and the good home of Fristling Hall Farm Ltd, Swan Lane.
Selling for £6200 was lot 14, an in-calf Limousin cross heifer bred by Messrs Ridley, Woodhall she is due in February, again to the excellent Harestone sire. This one sold to G Bell, Haas Side, Lockerbie.

Kitson Maiden Heifer
Four further in-calf heifers sold over £5000 and eleven between £4000 and £5000.
Maiden heifer trade was also very lively, topping at £4800, two more over £4000 and the top twenty-two all passed £3000. Pick of the bunch proved to be lot 50, a February 2024 born pedigree British Blue heifer Solway Uesha; she was another bought online by Fristling Hall Farm Ltd.
A British Blue cross at just nineteen months old came next when she sold for £4600, a stunning sort originally bred by East Anglian Trailers sold over the border to Falkirk to join J McAllister.

A guest trio of pedigree British Blues from the Bowl Turner herd of DM Alderson, Northallerton joined the Kitsons Stars by invitation, the pick of them being a thirty-month-old heifer which sold to G Dring & Sons, Pickering for £5800.
