Lambs (1323) Mid July and the lamb numbers continue to come forward however it must be said that weight and meat are key to achieving those top prices. Some lambs straight from the grass parks would look well sold however would meet a little more resistance on the week. Heavier weights still remain the order of the day with 48kg and onwards all reaping the rewards of the top prices. For the time of year an all in average of 395.09p/kg and £176.79 would look well respectable for the month. Mixed in amongst the averages this week also see some handier weighted lambs with everything from 37kg to 67kg lambs on offer. Top of the day is shared between two vendors with Stephen Lamb of Doe Park and D M McClerg, Blakely Hill leading at £250 with the pence per kilo topped by W & M Kaggs & Son at 452.2p/kg with the G W Whittington close behind at 450p/kg. Lambs can be sold to vendors advantage weekly. Fit lambs are remaining very easy to place and in high demand.
