CLA Post Autumn Budget Succession Roadshows across the North

CLA (Country Land and Business Association) is hosting four Succession Planning roadshow events across the North, a week after this year’s Autumn Budget. These events, which are free to attend for members and non-members, will take place on 2 December (North East and Yorkshire), and 3 December (Cumbria and Lancashire).

The CLA North team, working with Armstrong Watson, Strutt & Parker and Wrigleys Solicitors, will host FREE Succession Planning Roadshow events (part of a national series) a week following the latest Autumn Budget.

The free-to-attend roadshows are planned to follow this year’s Autumn Budget, inclusive of an early analysis, in addition to expert advice on accountancy, tax, legal matters and having difficult discussions within the family business. These events will cover every aspect from business structures, partnerships and gifting, through to wills, power of attorney, trusts and agreements.

Register for these events via the www.cla.org.uk/events website.

CLA Director North Harriet Ranson said:

“Succession planning is one of the most important responsibilities for any family business. Without a clear plan, decisions will be made under pressure, with fewer options and greater financial and emotional cost. What has always been an emotionally complex area for families to navigate has now, thanks to the 2024 Budget, become a financially critical minefield, which is why we are hosting these roadshows across the North.”

“The roadshow is open both CLA members and non-members alike, as I feel it is important to provide clarity and direction following the shocking changes imposed on our industry last year. The events will also include an early analysis of this year’s Autumn Budget, and it’s potential impact on farming businesses and the wider rural economy.”
