Bishop Auckland Civic Society
THE next meeting of Bishop Auckland Civic Society will take place at 7.30pm on Monday, 24th March
at B.A. Cricket Club on South Church Road (DL14 7JU) when Julian Harrop will address the Society in
an illustrated talk entitled ‘A Treasure of Memories’.
Julian is the Collections Resources Co-Ordinator at Beamish Museum. His job entails looking after
2.5 million photographs and a library of c70,000 books. Set over 350 acres, Beamish is a working
open air museum that aims to tell the story of everyday life in the North East through time.
As part of his presentation, Julian will explain recent developments at Beamish, together with
plans for the future.
Entry: free to Civic Society members. £3 to non-members.
