Week 4:
St Johns Chapel Blue Bell V Stanhope Grey Bull (A)
The visitors took the first point with a win from David Craggs, and Stanhope Grey Bull (A) continued to push clear with further singles wins from Johnny Emerson, Ben Forster, and Carl Tunstall. At this point St Johns Chapel Blue looked to have a tough task ahead of them to get back into the game, but Ian Mear and Peter Liddle claimed the last 2 singles games for the home side bringing the score to 4-2 to the visitors. Unfortunately for The Blue Bell it was Stanhope Grey Bull (A) that took the first doubles game to confirm the teams win for the evening, but the home side didn’t lye down and were victorious in the last 2 doubles games to end the match at 5-4 to Stanhope Grey Bull (A).
Frosterley Inn V Stanhope Pack Horse
Stanhope Pack Horse claimed the first point of the evening through Dan Wright, but the home side struck back and claimed the next 4 points with singles wins from Neil Coates, Derek Dent, Ethan Coates, and Davey Richmond. Stanhope Pack Horse were given a glimmer of hope with a win in the last singles game from Sarah Hutchinson, but it was Frosterly Inn that went on to claim all 3 doubles games to complete the match with a comfortable 7-2 victory.
Stanhope Grey Bull (B) V Stanhope Club
Alan Barker opened the scoring for Stanhope Club, but Stanhope Grey Bull (B) pulled the score level through Jack Tinkler. Stanhope Club pushed in front again with wins from Adam Robinson and Gary Stubbs before the home side responded with 2 wins of their own through Chris Henderson, and David Sheppard to level the scoring 3-3 at the conclusion of singles games. Stanhope Grey Bull (B) struck first claiming the first doubles game, but Stanhope Club claimed the second to level the scoring again. It was the home side that won the final doubles game of the evening to claim a narrow 5-4 victory for Stanhope Grey Bull (B).
