St. John’s Chapel W.I.
A warm welcome awaits you at St. John’s Chapel W.I.
Meetings are held in Barrington Hall (behind St. John’s chapel village hall), every last Wednesday in the
month 7pm-9pm.
In January we had a bring and share supper which was a feast for the eyes and included tequila cupcakes!
We all agreed that the Christmas Meal in the Hare and Hounds, Westgate and the Christmas Carol Service
in St. John’s Church, followed by a buffet in Barrington Hall were well supported and great social
evenings.
This was followed by our business meeting where we discussed our programme for 2025. Lots of various
and exciting suggestions were were made and the committee members have their jobs cut out to decide
what to choose…
Our February meeting -7pm, 25 February in Barrington Hall will be a Domino Drive with prizes (don’t
underestimate the competitive streaks these ladies have…). If you have a set of dominoes and spare or
unused Christmas presents, wrap them up and come along!
We pride ourselves on being a trusted place for all women of all generations within the Dale. An
opportunity to make friends and make a difference in the community. We also campaign nationally on a
wide range of issues for women in England and Wales.
‘The National Federation of Women’s Institutes (NFWI) is the largest voluntary organisation for women
in the UK with Approx. 180,000 members in 5,500 W. I.s’
